Hayley Louisa Brown probably has holiday snaps that make the Polaroids you took at Dekmental look like beer mats. Her photography is hazy ode to the glamour and heat of America in the late 1950s; hot-rods and hotdogs, greasers and greasy food, this is the stuff of Brown’s world. The content however, is a little more 2014. Hayley shoots for everyone from Asos to Adidas from Nasir Mazhar to Nike. Her Americana aesthetic skewers her very varied CV. She also cites the contractual clause whereby as part of her job, she is obliged to photograph lots of 'good lookin’ men'. Hayley if you need any kind of assistance, on the weekend, unpaid (willing to work the Christmas holidays) just let us know.
In all seriousness, Hayley's lens extends beyond fashion and she's photographed heavy weight hip hop superstars Wu Tang, Nas, ASAP and Flocka. Oh, and Pharell. But who's counting? (That's five, we repeat, five, of the biggest hip-hop superstars in the music industry today).
It's evident that's Hayley has a keen-eye from the proliferation of clothes porn filling up her Instagram feed. We're talking onehundo percent baller get ups; YSL, Chanel, Ashley Williams…gurl can get a look together. Hayley recently lectured at the Converse projects space in Peckham, but if you missed her talk and you're keen to hear more from her there's good news. Hayley’s latest project in the pipeline is a collaboration with her friend and hip-hop journalist Grant Brydon. Keep. Eyes. Peeled.
