We all know the adage, 'the nail pen is mightier than the sword' but never has this been so profoundly captured than in Emma Zentner's Snoop Dogg nail art. Originally from Kensal Rise, Emma went on to Graphic Design at Bristol UWE. In second year whilst we were all going to shit dubstep nights, Emma bought a nail art pen.

Boom Nails, born in 2011, was a time when Nail Art was IT and everyone had drunk the Kool-aid. However, Emma's designs brought a fresh new taste and style to an already crowded market. Marked by their characteristic intricacy and Emma's love of custom, personal, detail meant her designs are mini-masterpieces; whether it's her labyrinthine Aztec mosaic design or Harry Styles' face, you'll be getting good bang for your buck- her nail art is well, art. In fact, scour Emma's Instagram feed and you'll see how how heavily influenced Emma is by artists and designers; Lichtenstein, Matisse, Keith Haring, Versace, Moschino and Meadham Kirchhoff-all get nods.

Already Emma is racking up some serious editorial cachet: she's painted for everyone from Grazia, to Asos, Adidas Originals and Garage Magazine. She's scribbled on Cara's nails, hung out at Richard Branson's house and collaborated with Urban Outfitters to create her own line of nail wraps . Ok, so not only does the woman do nails, Boom has branched out into 'Boom Things' where you can find Emma's inimitable illustrations etched onto iPhone cases and splashed over greetings cards. We just hope she has nothing to do with Boomtown Festival, else consider this our resignation letter.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU DO:I design products and do nail art. Boom Things and Boom Nails! WHEN ARE YOU HAPPIEST? In the sun!FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT/SHOP/HANG OUT?I spend most of my money on food so I’ll start with that.. Spicy Basil in Kilburn is so so great. A very real fear about moving east is that they won’t deliver to me anymore and my hangovers will never be saved by amazing Thai food. Bento Ramen in Camden is also amazing (try their Marmite squid, trust me). I like hanging out at my studio, and when it’s sunny, the women’s ponds on the Heath. I also love a good exhibition.WHATS YOUR BEST ADVICE?Surround yourself with good people. I often feel completely in awe of how many great people I know doing amazing things.WHAT WORDS OR PHRASES DO YOU MOST OVERUSE?I swear way too much and say babe a lot. BEST PARTY YOU'VE EVER BEEN TO?It was a jungle themed fancy dress house party in Brighton, it was a lot. Fancy dress always seems so long until everyone actually makes an effort and somewhere along the line it turns into the best party ever. WHAT THREE THINGS WOULD BE ON YOUR RIDER?Some obscure and wonderful fruity cocktail, my small white lamb cloud dog Ruby, and lots of pineapple influenced objects.WHAT'S NEXT?Making more colourful fruit / pattern orientated products, and getting them into some shops! Got an exciting collaboration I’m working on soon too, and I’m still doing a bunch of nail stuff as always. AND FINALLY...WHO IS YOUR NEXT BABYFACE GIRL SUGGESTION?Who: Anna Lomax
Why: When you see her work you’ll know why, it’s just my favourite.
