Demange. Alizé Demange. No seriously, that’s our newest BabyFace girls’ genuine name (rushes to deed poll website). Meet Alizé; creative consultant, freelance stylist and co-founder of online magazine, Glen Coco. Alizé's upbringing was eventful, in her own words,‘growing up in a mixed race French household there was nothing short of funny shit happening all the time. Our customs mainly consist of eating, being ridiculously honest/borderline rude, arguing, and then making up.’
Foremost, Alizé is a stylist, and her wardrobe is on point, describing her style as ‘quiche ghetto fab'. One trip to Alizé's Instagram feed and you’ll be re-thinking your wardrobe; think denim, sportswear and more going out dress ideas than you’ll ever need. Alizé sites her nan as her ultimate icon, because she taught her ‘how to be a G in life and how to be a G with clothes’-word. For the record, Alizé's bucket hat game is on a level with Riri on that Oui Magazine cover flex.
If you’re not familiar with Glen Coco, what’s wrong with ch’all? GC is an online magazine showcasing the biggest and best ‘power girls’ that are coming up roses through the creative industries and Alizé describes the project as 'her biggest baby’. GC is a female focused lifestyle brand that Alizé co-founded with Ariana Remuinan. The girls have interviewed the likes of SZA, Sasha Keable and a rather unknown name, model, Cara Delevingne. GC produces tons of original content that’s well worth pouring over (break up advice, celebrity love stories re-told and pieces explaining just exactly what ‘girl code’ is). Most recently they have collaborated with collage artist Tagen Donovan and stylist Pippa Alice Evans on their Burn Book shoot with Anti-Agency’s Constance.
As a freelance stylist Alizé has worked with Trapstar, Adidas, Kyle De'volle, Miss Dynamite and Rita Ora. She explains her girl band aesthetic as a symptom of watching too much Buffy The Vampire Slayer and owning excessive amounts of Hello Kitty merch and trainers (preach). Did we mention she's also a Creative Director?…for high street brand Dark Pink LDN? Their SS15 collection which Alizé co-designed drops in January ’15 and we’re excited- last season they had the ultimate nude spaghetti dress of your dreams.
Currently Alizé is working on her baby Glen Coco; she’s planning a print and installation exhibition for February 2015 and on launching a GC zine and accessories line. Your girl also co-curates a night called Familia dedicated to friends and family. If you're looking to track her down, she's currently hibernating underneath a duvet but planning a comeback in 2015. Oh, and by the way, she’s 23…
